The split set (friction stabilizers) which is currently being used at mine is a high tensile steel tubular bolt rollformed into a "C" shape.
For the collar end of the tube a steel ring is fixed which will retain a plate on the installed tube to establish a compressive force against the rock surface. It conforms to ground shifts, grip even tighter.
The diameter sizes differ depending on the mining requirement.
